Graphite anti-seize, assembly and running-in compound: -30°C to 600°C

DescriptionInstructionsSizes, Prices & OffersSafety Data Sheet

GraphTek 600 is a premium quality graphite based compound, specially formulated for anti-seize protection, assembly lubrication, running-in applications and slideway lubrication.

Applications

• Formulated to prevent corrosion seizure of bolts, studs, flanges, hinges, mechanical linkages and all other threaded fasteners.
• Prevents seizure and galling of components during assembly and disassembly.
• Effective high temperature slide lubricant.
• Excellent protection lubricant for running-in.
• For use where a copper or nickel containing product is to be avoided.
• Suitable for both high and low speed applications.

Special benefits

• Effective up to 600°C.
• Metal free formula.
• Electrically conductive.
• Enhances thread sealing.
• Recommended for use with stainless steel.
• Enables parts to be re-used after dismantling, minimising replacement costs.
• Enables quick dismantling of components, saving on maintenance time.

Instructions for Use
Apply to the component surface by brush or lint free cloth. To obtain the best possible anti-seize protection of threaded fasteners, ensure that one of the threaded surfaces to be assembled is completely coated. When used as a lubricant for slides and plain bearings, apply sparingly and do not overlubricate.

Notes on application of Assembly Compounds
Anti-seize lubrication on assembly of plant components is a very much overlooked part of the plant maintenance programme. Anti-seize lubrication is not just a dab of grease on the end of a stud! Seeing the damage caused by the lack of correct lubrication at the assembly stage demonstrates the huge cost of repair and replacement. Much damage is caused to studs by either no assembly compound being used, or by applying just a dab to the end of the stud and relying on the action of the nut to carry the assembly compound along the threads.

Assembly compounds should be applied over the whole distance of travel of the nut. The assembly compound should be applied right down to the base of the threads and also to the inside of the nut. Contact faces of nuts should be coated with assembly compound, as should both faces of any washers that are used. Excess assembly compound does no harm. On the contrary, it improves sealing and thereby protection against corrosion.
