The Element 14* PDMS series is a range of synthetic fluids with a unique set of highly desirable physical and chemical properties that make them ideal for use in a wide range of situations in many industries.

The Element 14* PDMS fluids, by Momentive, are recognised worldwide for their quality and performance, and are the successors to the 'Baysilone M' series. They are methyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane polymers, specially manufactured in a range of viscosities from 5cSt to 100,000cSt.

When used as a heat transfer medium, the grade should be chosen with regard to the operating temperature range (including startup temperature and heat exchanger film temperature where relevant), to ensure that the fluid viscosity over the full range falls within the capabilities of the system. The higher viscosity grades may be used up to 150°C in an open situation, or as high as 200°C where oxygen is excluded from all parts of the system (including any header tank).
